No. A licensed course stays open to the cohorts you run, this year and next. There is no renewal date and no per-learner meter running underneath it.
Only the ones your programme actually runs on. Free courses need no licence at all, and a course you write yourself is yours — it is private to your organisation and costs nothing.
Joining requires a username issued from your seat list, not just the code, and the cohort has a seat ceiling you set. You can also regenerate the code, which invalidates the old one.
Free courses, yes, and it costs you nothing. A course you have not licensed stays closed to them — the page says so and points them at their teacher rather than asking them to pay, because that is not a decision a cohort learner can make.
Stop the cohort. There is no notice period, no termination fee and nothing still running. Learner records and certificates persist, and a learner who wants to carry on independently can add an email address and buy courses in their own name.
